GradWIC Lunch 11/13

posted Nov 9, 2015, 5:11 PM by Karyn Benson

It's time for our first quarterly GradWIC lunch! Please RSVP here if you are planning to attend so we can make sure we have enough food! (faculty need not RSVP)

When? This Friday, Nov 13, 1pm - 2pm

Where? Atkinson Hall, room 4004 (right outside the elevator on the fourth floor)
That's the building right across the courtyard from CSE, so you'll also get to enjoy 30 seconds of sunshine on your way there!

Who? All grads are welcome! We will also be joined by CSE faculty: Tajana Rosing, Jeanne Ferrante, Kamalika Chaudhuri, Mia Minnes, and Christine Alvarado.

What? Free lunch, for one thing! This is a great chance to get to know each other as well as some awesome female CSE faculty in an informal setting. Discussion will be loosely around the topic of apologizing in the workplace, so please check out this BizJournal article beforehand: A guide to workplace apologies: When 'I'm sorry' is warranted — and when it is not

See you there! Don't forget to RSVP:

Happening 10/23/2015 @ 11:30-12:30.   We will meet outside of the CSE building by the Bear.

We'll be introducing this year's GradWiC officers, and talking about our plans for the year: what kind of events we want to hold (both professional and social), opportunities we want to share, outreach, etc. We'd love to hear your thoughts on what you hope to get out of GradWiC, and also just get to know each other a bit better over some snacks and fresh air.

GradWiC is focused on fostering an environment that is supportive and encouraging of women and diversity in computing. All students and genders are encouraged to join! Hope to see you there!
